Step 2 of 5

How do you want to begin?

Both paths give you a Markdown guide built for today’s 80-minute session.

Download, personalize, then build.

This Markdown file gives your AI the plan for helping you turn your idea into a small, working project today.

1

Download the file

Click the large file icon above or the download button below. The file is named MY-OWN-IDEA-SCAFFOLD.md.

2

Edit the short starting card

Yes, edit the file before you use it. Open it in any text editor and fill in the seven short prompts under “My two-minute starting card.” Short phrases are enough. If you do not know an answer, write “not sure” and the AI will interview you.

3

Save it and give it to your AI

Save your changes, attach or upload the Markdown file to your AI assistant, and say: “Read this file and help me build my idea.”

Step 1 of 5 · Get ready

One assistant. One folder. Your first win.

Already set up? Jump straight to your project. Need a hand? Our laptop guide gives you the steps for your computer and chosen assistant.

You only need one AI assistant. We are here to help you get it working.

Your first small success

Ask your assistant to help you begin.

“I’m new to this. Help me create a project folder and a simple page that says ‘I’m ready to build.’ Open it in my browser. Explain each step and help me fix anything that goes wrong.”

When you can see the page, you are ready to choose something to make. Raise your hand if you want a human helper.

Ready? Continue to choose a focused project.

Step 5 of 5 · Take it with you

You built something. Keep it going.

Today’s version proves the idea can work. You do not have to add everything below—choose the next improvement that makes the project more useful to you.

Protect the win first: make a copy of the whole project folder somewhere safe, then write down what works and the one thing you want to improve next.

Three good next moves

Show one real person.Ask them to try it while you watch. Notice where they hesitate; that is often your best next improvement.
Build one small upgrade.Tell your AI what already works, then ask it to interview you and recommend the smallest valuable next slice.
Stay connected.Share your demo, celebrate other builders, trade feedback, and keep in touch with the people you met today. A community makes it much easier to keep momentum.

Helpful tools when you are ready All optional

Add a tool because it solves a problem you actually have—not because a checklist says a “real” project needs it.

Visual Studio CodeWhat: a free editor that shows all project files in one place. Why: it becomes useful when you want to inspect files, make small edits yourself, or use an integrated terminal. You can skip it while your AI app and browser are enough. Get VS Code
Git and GitHub DesktopWhat: version history for your project; GitHub Desktop gives it visual buttons. Why: you can safely experiment, undo mistakes, collaborate, and back up code online. Add it after your first working version. Git · GitHub Desktop
Packages and frameworksWhat: optional building blocks that Node’s npm helper can add to a project. Why: they can provide routing, charts, testing, or more complex interfaces. Start with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; ask the AI to add a package only when it solves a specific need.
PythonWhat: a general-purpose programming language. Why: it is especially handy for spreadsheets, data cleanup, files, images, automation, and later backends. It is not required for the browser starters. Get Python
SQLite and a database viewerWhat: a small database stored in one local file. Why: it gives structured projects more dependable storage than a flat file while remaining approachable. Get DB Browser for SQLite

Before other people depend on it

Turn the demo into a responsible app.

Accounts and security

A fake or stub login is fine for a private demo. Before real users store anything, use a reputable authentication service, add password recovery, and offer two-factor authentication or passkeys when the information warrants it. Never ask the AI to invent its own encryption.

Data and privacy

Decide what truly needs to be collected, where it lives, who can see it, and how it is deleted. Add backups before the data becomes important. Health, financial, children’s, and other sensitive information deserves extra care.

Publishing and reliability

Ask your AI to compare simple hosting options for this exact project. Before sharing widely, test on a phone and another computer, add clear error messages, and make sure the project still works after a restart.

Accessibility and feedback

Check keyboard navigation, readable contrast, labels, and useful text at different screen sizes. Invite a few people—including people unlike you—to try it and tell you where it is confusing.

A prompt for tomorrow

Give your AI the context, then choose one slice.

“Here is the project I built. First, inspect it and tell me what already works. Then interview me about who it is for and what I learned from showing it to people. Recommend three small next improvements, explain their value and difficulty in plain language, and help me choose and complete only one.”

Pick something that feels worth making.
